1. What we collect
Account information (name, email), business details studios provide (business name, contact info, logo), client records studios create (name, contact details, addresses, household members), body measurements, project details, photos you upload (inspiration, progress, message images), messages between studios and clients, and payment records entered by studios. We also collect basic usage data such as sign-in times to keep the service secure.
2. How we use it
We use your information to operate the service: showing studios their clients, projects, and finances; giving clients a portal into their own projects, measurements, and messages; sending account and invitation emails; and improving reliability and security. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use client measurements or photos for advertising.
3. Who can see your data
A studio sees the clients, projects, measurements, messages, and payment records in its own account. A client sees only the projects, measurements, and conversations tied to their own record with each studio they're connected to. Data is never shared between unrelated studios. Our infrastructure providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality, and our support team may access account data only to provide support you request or to keep the service secure.
4. Measurements and household members
Body measurements and household member details are sensitive. Studios are responsible for collecting this information with appropriate consent. Clients can submit and review their own measurements through the portal and can manage their household members in Settings.
5. Emails
We send transactional emails — invitations, account notices, and service updates — from our notify.sewingiq.com domain. You cannot opt out of essential service emails while you hold an account, but we don't send marketing email without consent.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Studio owners can delete client records and projects; clients can request deletion of their account by contacting their studio or support@sewingiq.com. When data is deleted it is removed from active systems, though backups may retain it for a limited period.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level isolation between accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact support@sewingiq.com to exercise them. Clients can also update their contact information and addresses directly in the portal's Settings page.
9. Children
Sewing IQ accounts are for adults. Measurement records for children may be stored by a parent or guardian through the household members feature.
